The department of Ullum is located in the center of the province of San Juan in western Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the northwest by the Department of Iglesia , to the northwest by the Department of Jáchal , to the east by the Department of Albardón , to the south by the departments of Zonda and Rivadavia and to the west by the Department of Calingasta .

The capital of the Ullum department is Villa Ibáñez .
