The Pocito Department is located in the southern center of the San Juan Province in western Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province. Much of Pocito belongs to the Gran San Juan metropolitan area of the provincial capital, San Juan .

It is bordered by the Rivadavia Department in the north, the Rawson Department in the east, the Sarmiento Department in the south and the Zonda Department in the west . The capital of the Pocito department is Villa Aberastain .
