Mathilde Bonnefoy

Mathilde Bonnefoy (* 11. March 1972 in Paris ) is one of France originated in Germany living film editor and director .

Short biography

The daughter of the French poet Yves Bonnefoy has both French and US citizenship. From 1990 to 1991 she studied philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris , but broke off her studies to go to Berlin . In 1995, she started a job as assistant editor and supervised in this role in 1997 the section of Life is a building site . In this context, she met the German director Tom Tykwer , who hired her as an editor for many of his films. In 1999 she was awarded the German Film Prize for editing Lola Run . From 2002 she edited a short film and a documentary for director Wim Wenders . Then she took the direction of directing and shot various documentaries for ARTE and the German band Rammstein .

Mathilde Bonnefoy was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy in 2003 .
