Dirk Wilutzky
Dirk Wilutzky (born February 2, 1965 in Herleshausen ) is a German film producer and director .
Life
Dirk Wilutzky studied philosophy and rhetoric at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen for two years . From 1991 to 1993 he worked as an assistant director at the State Theater in Eisenach . In 1993 he moved to Berlin where he took part in various positions in film productions, primarily documentaries and television series . In 2005 he made his directorial debut with the documentary The Fleetingness . Pitching in Hollywood followed in 2007 . Since 2010 he has been working on the short documentary series Was tun? of the Franco-German television station Arteinvolved. His production Citizenfour received the Oscar for best documentary film at the 2015 Academy Awards together with Mathilde Bonnefoy and Laura Poitras .
