Denni Rocha dos Santos , Denni for short , (born August 21, 1983 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Career
Denni comes from the youth of the EC Santo André and won the Copa São Paulo de Juniores with the youth team in 2003 . In the following years he played for the professional team of Santo André, but also had several guest appearances on loan at other clubs. In addition to stays with the Brazilian teams AD São Caetano and Ituano FC , he also played for the Japanese club Montedio Yamagata in the J. League Division 2 and Dorados de Tijuana in Mexico.
After another stint at EC Barreira , he moved to the Australian A-League for Newcastle United Jets in the summer of 2007 . Denni was regularly used during the regular season in the offensive led by Joel Griffiths , but lost his regular place towards the play-offs. In the 1-0 victory in the championship final against the Central Coast Mariners , he was substituted on in the third minute of stoppage time.
His contract, which expired at the end of the season, was not extended by the Jets and Denni only found a new club with the Maltese first division club Tarxien Rainbows during the winter break of 2008/09 . In 2010 he was honored as the best foreign player in the Malta Premier League and moved to Valletta FC for the 2010/11 season .
