The Manly Yacht Club (MYC) was founded in 1950 as the Manly 14ft Skiff Club in Manly , New South Wales , Australia . The club was later renamed the Manly Yacht Club.
Regattas
The club conducts its own regattas on Sydney Harbor .
Manly Junior
In 1959 the club had problems keeping its members interested in sailing. Most of the founding members now had families and children, and the Skiff Club could no longer offer these members enough. It was therefore decided to introduce a new junior class to recruit new members and rebuild the club. The biggest problem was that the club didn't have enough space to stow the boats. This led the club to develop the new Manly Junior class of dinghies , which could be stowed upright in the clubhouse.
