history

The original settlement of Escherode, which arose in the high medieval clearing period, was looted, cremated and abandoned during the Thirty Years War . Only a building used as a sheep farm was a reminder of the local situation. After the Second World War , Escherode was proposed as a state funding project for the state of Thuringia to build new farmer settlements. As part of the land reform, agricultural land was made available for this small settlement and around ten residential houses and outbuildings were built.
