The Parker Peninsula is a peninsula in the northeast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It runs out northeast at Andrews Point and separates the head of Fournier Bay from Lion Sound .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1956 during the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1980 after the British diplomat James Roland Walter Parker (1919-2009), who was Governor of the Falkland Islands between 1977 and 1980 .
