Richarlison , with full name Richarlison de Andrade (born May 10, 1997 in Nova Venécia , Espírito Santo ), is a Brazilian football player who has been under contract with the English Premier League club Everton FC since July 2018 .

Club career

America Mineiro

Richarlison de Andrade, born in Nova Venécia , began his career in the neighboring municipality of Águia Branca at Real Noroeste and joined the youth department of the Brazilian second division team América Mineiro in December 2014 . There he was promoted to the professional squad in June 2015. He made his professional debut in America's jersey on July 4th of the same year when he came on as a substitute in a 3-1 home win against Mogi Mirim EC . In the same game he was also able to achieve the 3-1.

On July 21, 2015, Richarlison extended his contract to 2018 and was able to celebrate promotion to the top division of Brazil, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol , in the same season with America .

Fluminense

On December 29, 2015, Richarlison signed a five-year contract with the traditional Brazilian club Fluminense Rio de Janeiro . He made his debut on May 13, 2016 in the second round of the Copa do Brasil , in which he met Ferroviária with his new employer . The game ended 3: 3, but Fluminense reached the next round due to a 3-0 win in the first leg.

Two days later, Richarlison also played for the first time in a league game, where he met Fluminense on his former club Atlético Mineiro. The game was won 1-0. He scored his first league goal on June 26th when he scored the winning goal against local rivals Flamengo .

At the Campeonato Carioca 2017, Richarlison scored eight goals in twelve appearances, and in the same year he scored two goals in four appearances at the Copa Sudamericana , the South American counterpart to the Europa League . Fluminense failed in this competition in the quarterfinals to Flamengo.

Watford FC

Richarlison ventured into Europe in the summer of 2017 . He was signed on August 8 by the Premier League club Watford FC . The Brazilian signed a contract until 2022 and cost the Hornets a transfer fee of 12.4 million euros . He made his first league appearance for Watford on matchday one of the 2017/18 season in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool . He scored his first competitive goal the next weekend in a 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth .

At the end of the season, Richarlison was the only Watford player who was used in all 38 league games. The winger also scored five goals in his first season on the island.

Everton FC

In the following summer of 2018, Richarlison was named as the transfer target for the new Everton coach Marco Silva . Silva, who trained him at Watford last season, was able to bring the Brazilian to Liverpool on July 24th . For the services of Richarlison, Everton FC transferred 39.2 million, which can be increased to 45 million through bonus payments, to Watford FC. This was the second highest transfer fee that Everton paid for a player at that time. Only the Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurðsson cost the club more transfer fees.

Richarlison had a tailor-made debut at his new club. On the first day of the Premier League season 2018/19 , he tied a brace in the 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers . In his first season he scored 13 goals in 35 league games. He also scored 13 goals in 36 league games in the following 2019/20 season .

In the third and final group game, he was on the reserve bench, but was not used. Richarlison was not in the squad for the quarter-final match against Paraguay on June 27th.
