Anthony Michael Gordon (born February 24, 2001 in Liverpool ) is an English football player who is under contract with the first division club Everton . The attacking midfielder has been England's U19 international since September 2019 .

Career

In Liverpool -born Anthony Gordon joined at the age of eleven years of youth department of the local Everton on after he was discovered when he played for the amateur club Frame Line Juniors. In the 2016/17 season he was on the pitch for the first time in competitive games of the U18 team. There, the attacking midfielder struck completely in the following season 2017/18 and had already 12 goals and two assists after the first 10 league games of the U18 Premier League the account. His impressive performances earned him a nomination for the first team matchday squad for the UEFA Europa League match against Apollon Limassol on December 6, 2017 . He finally made his debut in the 3-0 away win when he came on for Kevin Mirallas in the 88th minute . For the time being, this was his only appearance with the men and he returned to the U18 for the rest of the season.

In the next season 2018/19 he was regularly in action for the U23 team in the Premier League 2, where he was again able to improve his performance significantly in the next season 2019/20. Therefore, he was already in November 2019 for the first time at a Premier League match the Toffees in the matchday squad. He made his league debut on January 18, 2020 (23rd match day) in a 1-1 draw against West Ham United , when he was exchanged for Bernard at half-time . Head coach Carlo Ancelotti regularly used Gordon in the next league games.

National team

Between September 2018 and March 2019, he played ten international matches for the England U18 national team . Has been in action for the U19s since September 2019 .
