Jordan Lee Pickford (born March 7, 1994 in Washington , Tyne and Wear ) is an English football player . The goalkeeper is under contract with Everton and plays for the English national team .

Career

Pickford was born in Washington in the north-east of England's Metropolitan County Tyne and Wear , where he attended St Robert of Newminster Secondary School. His older brother Richard Logan is a retired football player for Darlington FC.

societies

Pickford joined Sunderland AFC in 2002 at the age of eight and went through the club's youth department. In 2011 he signed his first professional contract there. After several loan deals, he was the regular goalkeeper in Sunderland in the 2016/17 season and played 29 games in the Premier League . For the 2017/18 season , Pickford moved to league rivals Everton FC for the club's record transfer fee of 25 million pounds .

National team

Pickford has played in all England junior national teams since the U-16 . With the U-21 selection , he took part in the 2017 U-21 European Championship in Poland .

On November 10, 2017, Pickford made his debut in a 0-0 friendly against Germany in the English senior team . He finished fourth with the national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
