Yerry Fernando Mina González (born September 23, 1994 in Guachené , Cauca ) is a Colombian football player who has been under contract with Everton FC since August 2018 .

The center- back started his career at Deportivo Pasto . He made his debut for the club in March 2013 in the Copa Colombia . In October 2013 Mina made her debut in the Categoría Primera A and came to 14 missions by the end of the 2013 season , in which he scored a goal.

For the 2014 season, Mina moved to league rivals Independiente Santa Fe . At the club from Bogotá he developed into a regular player and won the Finalización in his first year and the subsequent Superliga de Colombia in early 2015 . In the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons , Mina made 67 appearances in which he scored seven goals. In addition, he made ten appearances (one goal) to win the Copa Sudamericana in the 2015 season .

In May 2016 Mina moved to Brazil to Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras . At Palmeiras, he made 36 appearances in the Série A in the 2016 seasons , in which they became Brazilian champions, and in 2017 , in which Palmeiras took second place, and in the 2017 São Paulo State Championship , in which he scored six goals.

Change to Europe

In January 2018, Mina moved to the Spanish Primera División for FC Barcelona for € 11.8 million , with which he received a contract until June 30, 2023 with a release clause of € 100 million. By the end of the season, Mina was unable to prevail against Gerard Piqué and Samuel Umtiti in particular and made five league appearances. With Barça he became champions and cup winners .

After FC Barcelona had signed another central defender with Clément Lenglet , Mina moved to the English Premier League for the 2018/19 season for a transfer fee of 30.25 million euros, which can be increased by 1.5 million euros through bonus payments to Everton FC . Mina made her debut for the Colombian national team on June 8, 2016 during the Copa América Centenario 2016 in the USA . On June 13, 2017, he scored his first two international goals in a 4-0 friendly win against Cameroon .

In 2018 he made the jump into the Colombian squad for the World Cup in Russia . The team reached the round of 16 , where they lost to England 3: 4 on penalties . Mina was used in three of four games and scored three goals, including the decisive goal for the 1-0 win against Senegal , with which his team qualified for the round of 16 and the 1-1 in stoppage time in regular time in Round of 16 against England.
