Raúl Alonso Jiménez Rodríguez (born May 5, 1991 in Tepeji del Río de Ocampo , Hidalgo ) is a Mexican football player .
Career
society
Jiménez played at Club América when he was young and began to gain his first experience with the América Coapa farm team as an adult . At the Copa Libertadores Sub-20 2011, he finished third on the scorers list with three goals and scored the decisive goal in America's 1-0 win in third place against Alianza Lima . He made his debut for Club América in the 2011/12 season on October 8, 2011 against Monarcas Morelia in the Mexican Primera División . In the Clausura 2013 he won the Mexican football championship with the Americanistas and, through his initial involvement in the Apertura 2014, was once again part of the squad of the championship team of the Club América .
For the 2014/15 season Jiménez moved to the Spanish Primera División at Atlético Madrid . He signed a six-year contract until June 30, 2020.
After Jiménez could not prevail at Atlético Madrid, he moved to the Portuguese Primeira Liga at Benfica Lisbon for the 2015/16 season . In the 2016/17 season he won the Taça de Portugal with the Portuguese record champions .
For the 2018/19 season, Jiménez initially moved to the Premier League on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers . After scoring 12 goals in 32 Premier League games, Wolverhampton Wanderers withdrew the option to buy in early April 2019 and provided him with a contract that ran until June 30, 2023.
National team
With the Mexican U-23 national team , Jiménez won the Toulon tournament in 2012 . With the Mexican Olympic selection, he won the gold medal at the soccer tournament of the 2012 Olympic Games . On March 22, 2013, he made his debut for the Mexican senior team in a 2-2 draw against Honduras .
