Pedro Lomba Neto (born March 9, 2000 in Viana do Castelo ) is a Portuguese football player who is under contract with the English club Wolverhampton Wanderers .

Career

Club career

Neto joined the SC Braga youth team at the age of 13. On May 7, 2017, he made his debut as a youth for the reserve team and came on as a substitute in the second half in a 2-3 home defeat against FC Porto B in the Segunda Liga. The following weekend he scored a goal in his first appearance in the Primeira Liga with the first team after just a few minutes on the field and helped the hosts to a victory against Nacional Funchal and thus became the club's youngest scorer in this competition. On August 31, 2017, both Neto and his teammate Bruno Jordão were loaned to Lazio Rome in Italy. For the club, he completed four games in Serie A and 12 games for the youth team in the Campionato Primavera .

On August 2, 2019 Neto signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers a contract until 2024. Twelve days later, he made his debut in the second leg of the third qualifying round UEFA Europa League against FC Pyunik of Armenia and scored one goal. His first appearance in the Premier League took place a few days later that same month, when he came on for his compatriot Diogo Jota in a 1-1 draw at home against Manchester United .

National team

Neto has been playing for various youth teams in Portugal so far. On September 5, 2019, at the age of 19, Neto made his first international match for Portugal's U-21s.

Personal

His uncle Sérgio Lomba was also a soccer player and played for the Mozambique national team .
