Leonardo Campana Romero (born July 24, 2000 in Guayaquil ) is an Ecuadorian football player . The striker is under contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers and is a senior international .

Career

Campana comes from the youth of the Barcelona Sporting Club . For his first team he was used from March 2019 in Serie A , the top division of Ecuador, and by the end of the year he had 16 games with 3 goals. In January 2020 Campana moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League and signed a contract valid until June 30, 2023.

National team

Campana played with the Ecuadorian U20 national team at the U20 South American Championship in Chile in January and February 2019 . He was the tournament's top scorer with six goals in nine games and won the title with his team.

On March 22, 2019, he made his debut in the 0-1 defeat in the friendly against the United States in the senior team .

Campana took part in the U20 World Cup in Poland with the U20 in May and June 2019 . In the tournament, he was used in all seven games of his team, which took third place. With the U23 selection Campana played in July and August of the same year at the Pan-American Games in Lima , where the team finished eighth.
