John Thomas Gordon Ruddy (born October 24, 1986 in St Ives in Huntingdonshire ) is an English football goalkeeper who has been under contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Football League Championship since 2017 .

Career

After starting his professional career at Cambridge United , he moved to Everton FC in the summer of 2005 for a transfer fee of £ 250,000 .

In September 2005 he took part in five games for FC Walsall in Football League One . This was followed by two more lending shops with the clubs Rushden & Diamonds and Chester City .

In February 2006 he made his debut at Everton after all other goalkeepers were unable to play.

In September 2006, a month-long loan deal was entered into with Stockport County , which was extended to three months due to Ruddy’s good performance. In February 2007 he played for a month for Wrexham AFC .

After further loan deals, Ruddy completed the entire 2009/10 season on loan for FC Motherwell, before signing a new contract with the English second division promoted Norwich City in July 2010 and making a direct march through to the Premier in the Football League Championship 2010/11 League reached.

On May 16, 2012 he was nominated by Roy Hodgson for the English national team as the third goalkeeper for the 2012 European Championship . In training camp, however, he broke his finger and was replaced by Jack Butland .

In June 2017, John Ruddy joined the Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship.
