Advancement into professional business

Nene Park

In the first season, the club reached the Division 3 playoff final, but where he lost to Cheltenham Town . In 2003 he rose because Hartlepool United was defeated on the very last day of the match . It was the third ascent in eight years. In March 2004, Brian Talbot left the club. He took the lead at Oldham Athletic . The new coach was Barry Hunter , who had no experience. At the end of the season, the club rose again. Due to a series of defeats in the winter and the necessary sale of some top players to pay off debts, he was relegated as 22nd in the league. Coach was Ernie Tippett at the end of the season and remained so for the 04/05 season. Despite a large number of new players and although one was traded as a promotion aspirant, the club quickly found itself in 22nd place again, so that Barry Hunter was brought back and yet not relegated. In the summer of 2005, Max Griggs resigned as president of the club. A group was founded by the fans to manage the club themselves. Griggs handed over the club, the stadium and 22 acres of land to him. Griggs also promised the club £ 500,000 in the 05/06 season and £ 250,000 in the 06/07 season. On June 3, 2005, the club was officially handed over. He's the first to be run by fans only. After the 05/06 season Rushden & Diamonds rose again from the Conference National .
