Rubén Pereira , full name Rubén Fabián Pereira Márquez (born January 28, 1968 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.79 meter tall midfielder Pereira was part of the squad of the Montevideo club Danubio from 1986 to 1991 . While he was a member of the club, the club won the Torneo Competencia in 1988 and then the Uruguayan national championship, to which he contributed with twelve and twenty-one season appearances. In the 1991/92 season he played for the Italian Serie A club US Cremonese and was used in 13 league games. He then moved to Argentina to the Boca Juniors . In Buenos Aires he played a total of 16 games in the Apertura 1992 and Clausura 1993. His team won the 92 Apertura Championship. In 1993 and 1994 he was a member of the Nacionals squad . From the Apertura 1995 until at least 1998, partly also the Clausura 1999, he was then active for the Club Atlético Peñarol . After a long time without a club, he joined Huracán Buceo in March 2000 .
National team
Pereira he was also a member of the Uruguayan senior team . He made his debut in the Celeste on August 7, 1988. His 27th and last international game he completed on July 17, 1996. Pereira scored an international goal. During this time he took part in the 1990 World Cup, where he was used in the group game against Spain and in the knockout round defeat against Italy . Pereira was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1989 Copa America , which Uruguay finished in second place.
