Torneo Competencia
The Torneo Competencia was a Uruguayan soccer club competition.
He was played by the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF) with interruptions from 1934 to 1990 in the first months of the year for the Primera División Profesional de Uruguay as part of the preparation for the season. The record winner is Peñarol with eleven titles won. Nacional has won the tournament ten times , while the Rampla Juniors and Montevideo Wanderers have two wins each. Also Central Español (nor as Central FC ), Danubio and Club Atlético Progreso the tournament decided once in their favor. The Centrals title win in 1944 was the first victory of a so-called small club in a competition of Uruguayan football of the 1932 started professionalism.
