The Velikaya ( Russian Великая , Большая Великая (Bolshaya Velikaya, Great Velikaya), Онемен (Onemen)) is a tributary of the Bering Sea in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug in the far east of Siberia .

The Velikaya arises in the Korjakengebirge at the confluence of its source rivers Kylwygeiwaam (Кыльвыгейваам) and Kuimweiem (Куимвеем). It flows in a predominantly northeastern direction through the southern area of ​​the Anadyr lowlands . It forms several smaller side arms. The Velikaya finally flows west of the city Anadyr in the onemen Bay (залив Онемен), a southern side of the bay Anadyr - estuary . The Velikaya has a length of 451 km (with the source river Kylwygeiwaam it is 556 km). Its catchment area covers 31,000 km². The Velikaya is ice-covered between October and the end of May.
