Ederson , with full name Ederson Santana de Moraes (born August 17, 1993 in Osasco ), is a Brazilian soccer goalkeeper . He is under contract with Manchester City in the English Premier League and is a Brazilian international .

Career

society

Ederson began playing football at Champions Ebenezer Football School in his native Osasco . The goalkeeper later played in the youth team of São Paulo FC . At the age of 16 he moved to Portugal, he was brought into the U-17 team of Benfica Lisbon . In 2011 Ederson moved within Portugal to third division club GD Ribeirão. At the end of his first season he was poached by the Portuguese first division club Rio Ave FC .

Four years after leaving Lisbon, the Brazilian goalkeeper returned to the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon for the 2015/16 season , where he was initially used in the B team . He made his A-team debut during the derby against Sporting Lisbon on March 5, 2016, after goalkeeper Júlio César was injured in training. Due to the longer absence of Júlio César, Ederson was used in the remaining league games of the 2015/16 season, the second leg of the Champions League second leg against Zenit Saint Petersburg , as well as in the quarter-finals against FC Bayern Munich .

For the 2017/18 season Ederson moved to the Premier League at Manchester City . His contract runs until 2025.

National team

For the Copa America 2016 coach Dunga Ederson appointed to the squad of the Brazilian national team . Due to an injury, however, he was unable to take part in the tournament. On October 11, 2017, Ederson played for the national team for the first time under Dunga's successor Tite in the 3-0 win in the World Cup qualifier against Chile in São Paulo . At the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia , Ederson was part of the Brazilian squad as a substitute goalkeeper . He is part of the squad for the 2019 Copa America . With this he was able to win the title. He was not used in any of the six games.
