final
As in the previous year, Finland and Germany faced each other in the final. For record European champions Finland it was the seventh consecutive participation in the finals and the ninth finals in ten events so far. Germany was in the final for the third time and won their first title.
Finland started the game with the right to attack and took a 7-0 lead in the first series. After a failed field goal attempt , Germany was able to stop the Finns' second attack and then cut it to 6-7. Through an interception from Pascal Ritzheim, Germany regained possession of the ball and used it for the 12: 7 halftime score. In the third quarter, none of the teams could play in a promising position. In the final section, it was the Finns who came within range of the field goal but kicked the ball next to the bars. Another three punts followed . After a sack by Frank Habermann in the fourth attempt by the Finns, Germany conquered the right to attack well into the opposing half. Domonique Kuhn, who was named MVP after the game , used this for his second touchdown and thus ensured the title win.
