American Football Championship 2000

The 2000 European American Football Championship was the ninth European men's championship in American football . It was held in 1998 and 2000, including the qualification. The German national team lost reached the final, in which they lost record champions Finland. Austria failed to qualify against Germany. For Finland it was the fifth title and the fourth title in a row.

The German team took a surprisingly clear 23-0 lead in the first quarter. At halftime, the Finns were able to shorten it to 23:10. After the break, it was again the German team that scored first and moved away to 29:10. After that, only the Finns could score points and took the lead with 30:29 for the first time in the last quarter. In the final series of attacks, the Germans ran out of playing time.
