2014 European American Football Championship

The 2014 American Football Championship was held as a three-stage tournament. The participating national teams were divided into three divisions based on their last performance.

The tournament of division C took place in late summer 2012 in Switzerland and Austria . Serbia emerged as the winner of the tournament and qualified for the next higher division.

In the late summer of 2013, six teams in division B played the last place in the 2014 main tournament , which Germany won in the final on June 7th in front of 27,000 spectators in Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium against Austria 30-27.

Division A

The main sponsor and namesake of the A-European Championship was the Salzburg food manufacturer Eat the Ball , which means that the tournament was called Eat the Ball Football European Championship 2014 . It took place between May 30th and June 7th in Austria.

The organization of the tournament of division A, the actual American football European championship 2014, was transferred to the Austrian association AFBÖ . The preliminary round matches were played in the UPC Arena in Graz and in the NV Arena in St. Pölten . The game for 5th place was scheduled in the Ravelinstraße football center, the final and the match for 3rd place took place in the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna .

Division B

The tournament of the B teams took place from August 31st to September 7th 2013 in Milan and was organized by the Italian association FIDAF. All games were played in the Velodromo Maspes-Vigorelli stadium.

Division C

The C-European Championship was played in August and September 2012. The following teams were entitled to participate in the tournament of the lowest division:

After a pre-qualification, in which Belarus met Russia, the actual tournament was decided in two game days. The semi-finals took place on September 14th in St. Gallen (Switzerland). The final and match for third place took place two days later in Hohenems (Austria).

qualification

In a preliminary match Russia first played against Belarus. For the Belarusian team it was the first international game ever. Russia qualified for the semi-finals with a win.
