The European Federation of American Football ( EFAF ) was the European umbrella organization for American football based in Frankfurt am Main , Germany . One of the tasks of the EFAF was to organize competitions at the European level for American football, flag football and cheerleading . The association was founded at the end of 1993 as the successor to the EFL . In 2014 the association was dissolved and replaced by IFAF Europe .

European competitions
The EFAF organized the following competitions:
- European Football League (EFL) with the Eurobowl as the final, the "Champions League" of the best club teams (see also list of all European Football League participants )
- European championship of national teams for seniors and juniors
- Allstar European, Europe's best youth players compete in the run-up to the Super Bowl of the National Football League (NFL) against teams from other continents (was replaced in 2004 by the participation of the European junior champion or runner-up)
- EuroFlag , European Championship of the national flag teams
- European cheerleading championship
Previous competitions
- EFAF Cup , another competition for club teams, comparable to the “UEFA Cup” (see also list of EFAF Cup participants )
- EFAF Challenge Cup and EFAF Atlantic Cup , European Cups comparable to the UI Cup, were both intended to bring teams from weaker countries up to international level. Both cups are equal, the team allocation is based on geographical factors.
