GFL International Atlantic Cup

The GFL International Atlantic Cup is a since 2015 been registered European Cup - sport competition for European club teams in American football . Alongside the European Football League (EFL) and the Big6 EuroBowl, it is the third club competition of the German Football League International (GFL International). It is the follow-up competition to the EFAF Atlantic Cup, which was held from 2009 to 2014 .

2015

The teams Groningen Giants , Belfast Trojans , Ghent Gators and Dudelange Steelers took part in the GFL International Atlantic Cup 2015 . The Belfast Trojans represented the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), the other three their national associations. The cup was held in Groningen on the last weekend in September .

2016

The GFL International Atlantic Cup 2016 took place on September 24th and 25th at the Stade JF Kennedy in Dudelange , Luxembourg.

2017

In 2017 there was a change in the participating countries. After Belgium and the Netherlands rose to the EFL, Romania and France took the places alongside Ireland. Since France's representative, Les Diables Rouges , could not take part due to a flight cancellation, the tournament was limited to a final of the two remaining teams. The game took place in Dublin on November 25th. In the final, the Dublin Rebels defeated the Bucharest Rebels 42:14, with Dublin winning the final for the first time.

2018

In 2018 the Romanian Bucharest Rebels , the Dutch Hilversum Hurricanes , the Irish Dublin Rebels and the French Diables Rouges de Villepinte were invited. However, the Rebels canceled their participation. The French won with two wins, the Dutch lost both games.
