The Herbert-Dröse-Stadion is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Hessian city of Hanau . It is mainly used for soccer and American football . The sports facility, inaugurated in 1951, is named after the former mayor of Hanau, Herbert Dröse .

The stadium is located on Burgallee in the Hanau district of Kesselstadt . The stadium is right next to the Hanau-Wilhelmsbad train station and the Wilhelmsbad State Park is not far away .
Furnishing
The stadium has a field made of natural grass and athletics facilities. The main grandstand has almost 900 covered seats, and the total capacity is between 13,000 and 16,000 spectators depending on the sport.
Sporting events
The Herbert Dröse Stadium was the venue for the home games of FC Hanau 93 from 1951 to 1999 . Until 1999 it was also the home of the former American football team Hanau Hawks . Since then, the American footballers of the Hanau Hornets and the footballers of the Hanauer SC have played their home games there in 1960 .
Nationally and internationally, the facility is best known for American football . On July 12, 2003, the final of the American Football World Cup took place in the Herbert-Dröse Stadium and in 2001 the German national team won the final of the American Football Championship against Finland in Hanau. The German Bowl , the Ladies Bowl and the Junior Bowl have also made guest appearances in the stadium.
In 2001 and 2007, the stadium was the venue for the finals of the Hessen Cup .
