The list of the largest football stadiums in Germany includes all stadiums in Germany with more than 15,000 spectator seats in which football is or has been played. These can consist of sitting and standing areas . For the German Football Association (DFB) this is, among other criteria, the lower limit for eligibility to play in the Bundesliga . The year of the opening, the presence of a grandstand canopy, the team that mainly uses the stadium, whether there is a running track and the highest number of visitors with the year are named. Another list shows all stadiums with a seating capacity of 25,000 or more. This is roughly the lower limit for the use of stadiums for international matches. The year of the opening, the year of the last renovation or conversion / new construction, the previous stadium name, the number of boxes and business seats, whether a running track is available and the costs of the last construction work are stated.
