Soccer

The SuS footballers first drew attention to themselves in 1924 when they won the championship of the second division but missed the leap into the top division. Four years later, TSG made it up, but couldn't compete there because of the football revolution . After the reorganization of the northern German leagues, the Bergedorfer found themselves back in the second-class league. In 1954, TSG was relegated to the district league, but managed to get promoted again immediately.

For ten years, the association league remained the home of the Bergedorf family before they were promoted to the Hamburg amateur league in 1965 . For a long time, the team played for one of the first two places that allowed them to participate in the promotion round to the Regionalliga Nord . At the end of the season it was enough for 5th place. In the North German Cup they caused a sensation with a 2-0 win over regional division VfL Osnabrück , only to be eliminated one round later against fourth division Eutin 08 .

The last highlight in the club's history was the derby against Bergedorf 85 in the 1971/72 season in front of more than 6,000 spectators. After relegation in 1973, the club slipped into lower leagues and returned to the national league in 2004. Then the club crashed into the district class, from which it rose again in 2015. Two years later, he was relegated to the district class again. With Nils Pichinot , the club produced a second division player.

The games of the men's and youth teams are played in the Billtalstadion , where most of the teams' training units are also completed.

athletics

Ingo Schultz , the European champion in the 400-meter race in 2002 began his career at TSG for which he launched from 1997 to 2000 and from 2002 by 2004.

The Bergedorf cross-country run is carried out by the athletics department and has been held annually since 1965. It is therefore the oldest still existing cross-country run in Germany. The venue is traditionally the Bergedorfer wood.

Table tennis

For many years, the table tennis department of TSG was overshadowed by local rivals and temporary second division club ASV Bergedorf 85 , but in the 1990s it rose to become the leading club in the east of Hamburg. From the early 2000s to 2014, TSG Bergedorf and SC Vier- und Marschlande formed the table tennis friends Bergedorf / Vier- und Marschlande , or BVM for short. The first men's team (of eight) of the table tennis friends returned in 2012 as champions of the Hamburg League in the Oberliga Nord . For the 2014/15 season, the two clubs will go their separate ways again.
