Unterbissingen is a district of the Bissingen market in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . The place was incorporated into the market Bissingen on July 1, 1971. It is located 500 meters south of Bissingen and south of the Kessel on a valley slope. The highest altitude is 435 m.

history

The church village is first handed down in 1377 as "Niderpissingen" and in 1460 as "Underpissingen". It is probably one of Bissingen's development settlements in the Middle Ages . At the end of the 14th century, the Unprepared family sat in the place where the Counts of Oettingen had their own bailiff's office . This Vogtamt was incorporated into the Oberamt Bissingen at the beginning of the 19th century .

Unterbissingen always belonged to the original parish of the middle Kesseltal, the parish of Bissingen. The St. Ulrich branch church has a Romanesque nave from the 13th century and a choir from the 14th / 15th. Century.
