Obermagerbein is a hamlet in the Bissingen market in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . It is located 1.2 kilometers northeast of Fronhofen on a ridge of the boiler .

history

Obermagerbein is first handed down in 1139. The place was probably created as an extension settlement of Unterermagerbein or Burgmagerbein . To distinguish it from these two places, the new settlement was also called Dürrmagerbein because of its dry location on the ridge. In Obermagerbein the people of Hohenburg and Harburg as well as the monastery of St. Georgen in the Black Forest were wealthy. From 1468 the Mönchsdeggingen monastery owned a stake in Obermagerbein. At the end of the Old Kingdom , the place belonged to the county of Oettingen and was administered by the Oberamt Bissingen .

building

In the village there is the Roman Catholic Lourdes Chapel, which the court owner Michael Sinning had built in 1924 in a neo-Gothic style.
