Unterringingen is a district of the market Bissingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . The place was incorporated into the market Bissingen on May 1, 1978. It is located six kilometers west of Bissingen in the upper valley of the boiler . The highest altitude is 489 m.

The parish village of Unterringingen probably goes back to an Alemannic foundation. The place is Urmark and original parish for the entire area of ​​the upper Kesseltal, which is today in the district of Dillingen on the Danube. The place is first handed down in 1247 as "Ringigen". The name "Unterringingen" to distinguish it from Oberringingen appears for the first time in 1411. Above all, the high-rise rule was wealthy in the place. These goods passed to the Counts of Oettingen in 1347 , who already owned Oberringingen. In the course of the 17th century the entire property of Unterringingen came to the County of Oettingen . With this, the place came to Bavaria through mediatization in 1806 and was incorporated into the Bissingen Justice Office in 1807 .

Unterringingen is the seat of an old parish , for which a pastor is first attested in 1247. In the middle of the 16th century the Reformation was carried out; Since the Counter-Reformation could not prevail, Unterringingen has remained a Protestant parish to this day. Today's Evangelical Church of St. Laurentius was originally built around 1400 and has seen several changes.
