Leiheim
Leiheim is a district of the market Bissingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . The place was incorporated into Unterringingen on July 1, 1971 . With Unterringingen he came to the Bissingen market on May 1st, 1978. It is located 6.5 kilometers west of Bissingen in the upper valley of the boiler . The highest altitude is 485 m.
Surname
The place was probably named after the local noble family of the Lihener and was called Lihen , Lyhen , Lichen and Lei (c) hen until the 16th century . With Leyheim , the current form of the name is handed down for the first time in 1603. Lihen could have been derived from fiefdom .

Leiheim is first handed down in 1262, the place was probably created by Unterringingen as an expansion settlement. In the period from 1262 to 1270, a lower noble family is mentioned that was in the service of the Lords of Hohenburg . Around 1377 a member of the Lords of Zoltingen sat in the village . In 1376 the property came to the rule of Diemantstein .
