Children's sports school
A children's sports school is a department or an offer in a sports club , possibly in cooperation with the municipality, that offers children the opportunity to introduce them to sports without the hurdle of joining a club. The sports offer in a children's sports school is age-dependent and cross-disciplinary and can be divided into different levels. Financing takes place through the association's contributions. Under the guidance of full-time sports specialists, children between the ages of three and eleven are taught according to a common curriculum with a holistic pedagogical concept. Health aspects are given special consideration. The children should improve their basic motor skills. The basis for the work of the children's sports schools is a common framework curriculum, which was published in a revised version in 2011 by a curriculum commission set up specifically for this purpose and which is compatible with the kindergarten and school curricula .
The idea of the children's sports school arises from a concept by the former Vice President of the Swabian Gymnastics Federation , Kurt Knirsch. Based on this concept, Jochen Kucera founded the first children's gymnastics and sports school in Weingarten in 1988 .
