Stratford (formerly: Stratford Langthorne ) is part of the London Borough of Newham .

Stratford is important to the surrounding area as a shopping district. The station Stratford station is an important Umsteigeknotenpunkt between the railways, the Tube (subway) and the Docklands Light Railway .

In Stratford, the central Olympic Park was built for the 2012 Olympic Games , which houses several competition venues and event locations, including the Olympic Stadium . There is also Stratford International train station , which has long-distance connections from London St Pancras to Kent .

Westfield Stratford City shopping center was the largest shopping center in London until Westfield London (in White City ) was expanded in 2018.
