The Westfield London is a shopping center in London . With 240,000 m² of retail space, 450 shops and around 25 million visitors per year, it is the largest shopping center in Europe.
history
The mall was developed by the Westfield Group and cost £ 1.6 billion to build.
The opening was on October 30, 2008. The Franco-British Exhibition took place in 1908 on the site in Shepherd's Bush in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham , which had previously been fallow .
In 2009 the building was nominated for the Carbuncle Cup .
In 2016, the shopping center was expanded by 70,000 m² of retail space and 90 shops. The expansion cost was £ 600 million.
