Flint ( Welsh Y Fflint ) is a town in the Welsh county of Flintshire .

Flint is located south of the mouth of the river Dee , which is here under strong tidal influence .
history
Flint has the oldest town constitution in Wales. It goes back to the year 1284.
Also known is the castle , the construction of which Edward I began in 1277 and which plays a key role in Shakespeare's drama Richard II .
Ian Rush and the ancestors of American actor Tom Cruise come from Flint .
