Chaleo Yoovidhya

Chaleo Yoovidhya ( Thai : เฉลียว อยู่ วิทยา , RTGS : Chaliao Yuwitthaya, [ t͡ɕʰàliǎw jùːwíttʰájaː ]; born August 17, 1923 in Phetchaburi ; † March 17, 2012 in Bangkok ) was a Thai businessman and billionaire.

Career

He was the owner of T. C. Pharmaceuticals and T. C. Agrotrading, which produce Krating Daeng and own 49% of Red Bull , and 50% of the foreign-based Piyavate Hospital in Bangkok. His son Chalerm held a further 2% in Red Bull, making the Yoovidhya family officially in the majority. On the Forbes - list of billionaires Chaleo 2005 ranked with a fortune of 2.2 billion US dollars worldwide 292nd place. In 2013, after Chaleo's death, Forbes ranked the Yoovidhya family fourth among the richest Thai people with $ 7.8 billion.

Chaleo was married twice and had eleven children.
