Volodia Teitelboim
Volodia Teitelboim (born March 17, 1916 in Chillán , † January 31, 2008 in Santiago de Chile ; actually Valentín Teitelboim Volosky ) was a Chilean-Jewish communist and writer .
Life
He was best known as a friend of Pablo Neruda , about whom he also wrote a biography (as well as about Jorge Luis Borges , Gabriela Mistral and Vicente Huidobro ) .
In 1943 he published the essay "El amanecer del capitalismo y la conquista de América" ("The dawn of capitalism and the conquest of America").
He was the adoptive father of Claudio Teitelboim .
