Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo (born March 25, 1958 - March 17, 2020 in Lisbon ) was a politician from Guinea-Bissau . He was Deputy President of the People's Assembly and from May 2012 to June 2014 he was transitional president of his country.

Nhamadjo was a member of the Partido Africano da Independência da Guiné e Cabo Verde (PAIGC) until 2012 , after which he became independent. As a member of parliament, he was briefly acting speaker in 2009 and again in 2012 .

He was considered a confidante of the former President Malam Bacai Sanhá . In the first round of the 2012 presidential elections on March 18, 2012, he received 15.7 percent of the vote as an independent candidate and did not make it into the runoff election planned for April 29, which was due to a military coup on April 12, as third-placed candidate 2012 never came. After the coup, the junta and the opposition agreed on April 19 that Nhamadjo would be the interim president for a two-year transition period until elections were held. However, Nhamadjo refused to accept the post, and the African Union and West African Economic Community (ECOWAS) rejected the agreement in an attempt to legitimize the coup and refused to recognize Nhamadjo. On May 11, 2012, however, the junta and ECOWAS agreed on Nhamadjo, who now agreed to take over the office.
