Markus Becker (born March 17, 1971 in Annweiler am Trifels ) is a German pop singer whose trademark has been a red cowboy hat since mid-2007.

Life

The son of a bank director left high school after the twelfth grade with the technical college entrance qualification. He completed training as a physiotherapist and retailer . In 1995 he met the trained nurse Kirstin, whom he married in 1997 and with whom he has a son (* 1996) and a daughter (* 1998).

Becker started performing with hits in 1993 and has been a professional singer since 2001. Since 2003 he has performed weekly in the mega-park on Mallorca and since 2004 on the Bulgarian golden sands . Every year he makes up to 300 appearances. Of Sat.1 and Jurgen Drews , he received the title in 2006 King of the Gold beach awarded.

His hits include Ballermann hits like Düdeldü , Mallorca, hey we are coming or do you hear the earthworms cough , the duets I think it's going again (with Willi Herren ) and Aloha heja he (with Jürgen Drews ) as well as the summer hit Das Rote Pferd , based on a children's song based on the melody of the chanson Milord , made famous in 1960 in the interpretation of Édith Piaf , in Becker's version with a refrain based on Kurt Tucholsky . This single was one of the most played songs on Playa de Palma and Golden Sands in 2007 and stayed in the German single charts for several weeks . The Mallorca Cowboys had the idea for the song back in 2006 . Markus Becker and the Mallorca Cowboys were the headliners of the Ballermann Hits TV show 2007 ( RTL II ). A number of other artists have now released cover versions of the song. On December 28, 2007, Markus Becker re-released The Red Horse as an après-ski version under the umbrella of EMI. This version made it to number 4 in the German single charts in 2008. Markus Becker was also regularly in the VOX - Docu-Soap Ab ins Beet! In 2006 and 2007 . to see.

In March of 2008, he appeared alongside other artists such as Fettes Brot , OneRepublic and Christina Stürmer in the chart show The Dome on RTL II. Even when Florian Silbereisen and his spring festival of folk music in the first and in the ZDF Fernsehgarten the entertainer was, among other already a guest. His first album The Red Horse (The Party Album) was released on March 28, 2008 on EMI.
