Siegfried Theodor Arndt

Siegfried Theodor Arndt (born March 17, 1915 in Lindenthal near Leipzig, † May 7, 1997 in Leipzig ) Evangelical Lutheran pastor, 1968–1982 in the Leipzig-Gohlis Reconciliation Church. Engaged in the field of Christian-Jewish cooperation . 1971 Chairman of the Working Group on Church and Judaism in the GDR .

In 1984 he was awarded the Buber Rosenzweig Medal together with the historian Helmut Eschwege for his services to Jewish-Christian cooperation.

From 1989 Arndt was a member of the board of trustees of the Ephraim Carlebach Foundation .
