Lydia Roppolt
Lydia Roppolt (born March 17, 1922 in Moscow ; † November 28, 1995 in Vienna ) was an Austrian modern artist. Her main works are glass windows for churches. In addition, she also created frescoes , textiles, plastic objects, oil paintings and graphics .
Life
Lydia Roppolt was adopted by the teacher Emma Agnes Roppolt from Vienna. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Sergius Pauser , Albert Paris Gütersloh and Herbert Boeckl .
A decisive turning point in her work was when she won the competition for the glass window ribbon for the Bindermichl Church in Linz in 1955. A large number of orders for glass windows followed.
Roppolt belonged to the Benedictine lay community . She is buried in the Konradkirche in Oberwang , where she had her studio since 1970.
