The Sierninghofen-Neuzeug parish church is located in Neuzeug in the market town of Sierning in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Berthold belongs to the Deanery of Steyr in the Diocese of Linz .

history

In 1941 Sierninghofen-Neuzeug was raised to the branch of the Sierning parish until it became an independent parish in 1963. The Maria Lourdes Church in Neuzeug served as the parish church until the new church was completed .

In 1953 a plot of land was purchased for the construction of a new church and in 1958 the construction of a parsonage and parish hall began. The buildings were consecrated in 1959 with Bishop Franz Zauner . On August 17, 1969, pastor Kreuzeder broke ground for the church, which was built according to plans by Gottfried Nobl and Othmar Kainz . The church was consecrated with Bishop Franz Zauner on October 24, 1971.

The interior of the church was designed by the artist Lydia Roppolt . In 1983 an organ of the Franciscan Sisters in Linz was transferred to the parish church and rebuilt with the organ builder Bruno Riedl and consecrated in 1984 with Bishop Maximilian Aichern . In 1992 the bell tower was raised and the three new bells of the Grassmayr bell foundry were consecrated with Bishop Maximilian Aichern.
