Phillip Archer (born March 17, 1972 in Warrington , England ) is an English professional golfer .

Career

Archer began playing golf at the age of nine at Birchwood Golf Club , where his father was a charter member. He became a professional golfer in 1991 and tried ten times to qualify for the European Tour via the Schol Tour , which he succeeded in 1999 and 2002. In between he played the second-ranked Challenge Tour , the third- ranked Europro Tour (1 tournament win), and won six events in a row on the regional English PGA North Region in 2002. From the 2005 season his membership in the major European tournament series stabilized. After the 2010 season, however, Archer lost his eligibility to play on the European Tour and has since played on the Challenge Tour again.

Philip Archer has been married to his wife, Deborah, since 2005. He is a very good snooker player and a great fan of Manchester United .
