Eliza Hope Bennett (born March 17, 1992 in Reading , Berkshire ) is a British actress and singer .

life and career

Bennett began acting at a young age and had a few stage appearances at her school. Her first role was that of Princess Arabella in the romantic comedy The Prince & I (2004). She became known a year later as Tora Brown in the fantasy film A Magical Nanny , in which she acted alongside Colin Firth and Emma Thompson . The following year, she played a starring role in the action - thriller The Contractor - Double Play . Her international breakthrough came in 2008 when she played Meggie Folchart in theFilm adaptation of the novel Inkheart played and also contributed the title song My Declaration - originally by Tom Baxter.
