Appolite Ramaroson Rarison

Appolite Ramaroson Rarison (first name also listed internationally as Hippolyte ; born September 28, 1951 in Antananarivo ) is a Malagasy Vice Admiral and was President of Madagascar on March 17, 2009 . From February 25, 2010 to March 2011, he was Foreign Minister .

One day presidency

After months of unrest, Marc Ravalomanana , the previous president of Madagascar, handed over his office to Rarison. The new government announced an amendment to the country's constitution with a new republic. The Malagasy military handed over the presidency to the previous opposition leader Andry Rajoelina on the same day . He said, according to news agencies, "We categorically refused to set up the Board of Directors appointed by the President after his resignation."
