Carl Wilhelm Fritze

Carl Wilhelm Fritze (born July 16, 1791 in Braunschweig , † March 4, 1842 in Bremen ) was a Bremen merchant.

biography

Fritze was the son of a businessman . He completed a business apprenticeship. In 1819 he became a citizen of Bremen. In 1804 his older brother Carl Wilhelm August Fritze joined the Bremen company Abegg & Co and in 1809 became a partner in the company, which was called JF Abegg & WA Fritze from 1814 to 1822 .

After Abegg became a senator and left, Carl Wilhelm Fritze joined his older brother's company, which was now called WA Fritze and W. Fritze . Together with his brother he was active in the commercial shipping company, in cotton and in the South Sea trade. The company owned four ships that went to the West Indies and North America. The partners in the successful company changed frequently after his death.

By marrying Elisabeth Focke, he became the owner of the Focke-Fritze estate, which is now known as the Borgward Villa .

After the Second World War , the company headquarters in Birkenstrasse was u. a. the name WA Fritze GmbH & Co. KG, Importe Fritze & Solte GmbH and Fritze Wollhandel GmbH .
