history

The armed forces of Madagascar ( French Forces armées de Madagascar , Malagasy Tafika Malagasy ) make up the armed forces of Madagascar with 13,500 soldiers and 8,100 gendarmes .

They are divided into Army with 12,500 soldiers, Air Force with 500 soldiers, Navy with 500 soldiers and Gendarmerie National with 8100 members.

Land Forces

The army has, among other twelve PT-76 - battle tanks , 35 BRDM-2 - Spähpanzer , 20 M3 Scout Car , ten Ferret Radpanzer , eight M8 Greyhound , 30 track Half-M3 , twelve 122-mm D-30 - howitzers five 105-mm M-101 -Haubitzen, eight 120-mm M-43 -Mörser, eight 82-mm M-43 -Mörser, 50 14.5 mm ZPU-4 - anti-aircraft guns and 20 37 mm Type 55 anti-aircraft guns.

Naval forces

The navy has 7 patrol boats and a landing craft .
