The Armed Forces of Cape Verde ( port. Forças Armadas Cabo-verdianas , abbreviated FACV ) are the military of the Republic of Cape Verde . They are divided into a national guard and a coast guard with an attached air squadron .

history

On April 26, 2016, the police found eight soldiers, a civilian and two Spanish nationals murdered by the police on the island of Santiago at a transmitter on Mount Tchota near Rui Vaz, which was also used by the armed forces. This put the national security forces on high alert. A connection with drug trafficking is suspected.
